Oakley Favourites with the Bookies!
Oakley have been installed as 11/4 favourites to win the league with William Hills.
Rosyth and Dundonald are 3-1 and 7/2 respectively. Today's opposition Bankfoot
are outsiders at 33-1.

Campaign Starts on Saturday
This Saturday Oakley United open their East Region Central League campaign
away to Bankfoot. We hope to see a large travelling support to cheer the lads off to
a winning start. If the football is not up to your liking I can reliably inform you that
the Bankfoot Steak Pies are worth the trip!

Kick Off 2.30 at Bankfoot.

Getting There

Directions by road: Follow A9 North from Perth taking Bankfoot turn off.  On
entering Bankfoot turn left down Prieston Road then 2nd right down Newhall Street
(very narrow one way) to ground on left.

Ryan Blackadder joins Glenrothes Juniors
Oakley United announce that Ryan Blackadder has now joined East Superleague
outfit Glenrothes Juniors. Ryan joined us last year and put in some superb
performances. The club would like to wish thank Ryan for his effort and wish him
all the best for the future.

Haws spoil Oakley's ACA League Cup Challenge
Missing several key defenders including John Sinclair and Peter Fyfe the club went
down to a 6-2 defeat at Hill O'Beath. Infact, Oakley were down by 5 goals after only
25 minutes. Two shrewed subs by Steve Kay managed to stop the misery and in
fairness Oakley were a good match for the Haws from then on. With such a young
team I'm sure the management team will be able to take some positives and look to
build on the experience.

The New Season Arrives!!
After a long summer of Asda Saturday afternoons, season 2009/10 has finally
arrived to save us from further punishment.

This season Oakley United have dropped down into the East Region Central
League after a valiant second half of the season failed to save us from a second
successive relegation. Nevertheless. The team showed tremendous fight and
produced enough quality to suggest that Stephen Kay and his management team
are beginning to form a squad that will go on to challenge for junior honours over
the next few years.

New Signings
Oakley United wishes a warm welcome to our two  new signings Gavin Gray from
Hill O'Beath Hawthorns and Kevin Masson from Newburgh Juniors. Both players
will undoubtedly add fire power to Oakley's attack
.

ACA League Cup Fixtures
Oakley kicked off the campaign wish a 3-1 'derby' win over local rivals Steelend.
Goals by Willie Campbell, Gavin Gray and Ryan Blackadder were enough to see off
a plucky Steelend challenge.

On Tuesday night Oakley went down to 1-0 home defeat against Rosyth. The
visitors dominated the first half creating most of the chances. They duly opened the
scoring after a fine strike by Rosyth Striker Scarborough. Similar to the Steelend
game Oakley came into the game more in the second half but lacked the killer
instinct  to get on the score sheet.
